On May 19th, Academician Gu Min, Executive Chairman of the School Affairs Committee, Professor Zhang Xuedian, Executive Vice Dean of the School of Optoelectronic Information and Computer Engineering, and others came to our school for investigation. Dean Zhao Laijun, Party Secretary Wang Wei, Vice Dean Zhang Yongqing, and Vice President Chairman Zhang Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Pu Yingying and leaders of related disciplines attended the meeting, which was presided over by Professor Zhao Laijun.
At the meeting, on behalf of the school, Professor Zhao Laijun extended a warm welcome to Academician Gu Min and his entourage to the Business School. Dean Zhao Laijun reported on the school’s development status and plans in terms of party building, historical evolution, internationalization, organizational structure, discipline construction, talent team construction, student training, and scientific research.
Academician Gu Min conducted in-depth discussion with representatives of the college on international business school rankings, actuarial majors, blockchain technology, data science, professional degree construction, innovation and entrepreneurship, etc., and guided the future development of the school. Dean Zhao Laijun proposed four ways for the future development of the school: by applying for a doctoral degree in business administration to change the imbalance of the school’s discipline development structure; by vigorously introducing overseas teachers, expanding international cooperation, and carrying out EQUIS certification to improve the international level of the school; by introducing and training High-level teachers, encourage the publication of high-level research results, and expand the academic influence of the school in China and abroad; improve the effectiveness of professional degree construction by changing the professional degree management system, improving the school environment, and improving the treatment of teachers, and ultimately improve the level of talent training, The goal of enriching scientific research results, improving teacher salaries, and enhancing the influence of the college.
Regarding the questions raised by Academician Gu, Deputy Dean Zhang Yongqing proposed that the construction of professional degrees should focus on market segments, and Vice Dean Zhang Zheng proposed the idea of professional degree construction based on systematic thinking, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship, and deepening the medical device industry. At the same time, Professor Lei Lianghai gave an introduction to the treatment of teachers, Professor Ma Liang to the actuarial profession, and Professor Fan Chongjun to the blockchain technology issues, and communicated with Academician Gu.
Dean Zhang Xuedian communicated with representatives of our hospital on cooperation in medical-industry, artificial intelligence, big data and other fields, and reached a preliminary cooperation intention with our hospital on matters related to the industrial school.
