On November 2nd, 2019 Industrial Engineering Application and Innovation Competition for College Students in Shanghai came to a successful conclusion. The competition was jointly held by the Business School of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology(USSTBS), Shanghai Engineering Management Society(SEMS), Shanghai Mechanical Engineering Society(SMES) and Industrial Engineering Specialty Committee(IESC) of Shanghai Mechanical Engineering Society.
The Party Secretary of USSTBS, Wei WANG, secretary-general of SEMS and IESC, Chunming YE, also the vice President of USSTBS, the deputy dean Zheng ZHANG, vice Party Secretary committee Xiuwen YAO, vice President of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship institute of USST, Kun XIA, the Engineering Management Professional Degree and Graduate Education Steering Committee members, Zuhua JIANG, also the professor in Shanghai jiaotong university, the director of Postgraduate Department in Shanghai College of Electrical Engineering Huimin MA, the industrial engineering department head in Shanghai Ocean University, Lichen ZHANG, the senior engineer in Shanghai Volkswagen co., LTD., YinShui YU, the distinguished professor of Zhengzhou Institute of Aviation Industry Management and also the senior engineer of Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., LTD, Shunlong JIANG, as well as more than 100 teachers and students from the 17 participating projects in Shanghai attended the event.
The competition attracted 8 universities including Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, Shanghai University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai University of Engineering Science, and Shanghai Second Polytechnic University. The competition had received 34 project applications. Seven experts from universities or enterprises were invited to review these works, and they ultimately selected 17 projects for the final round. In the final, on-site defense was adopted, and scores were given according to the significance, feasibility, method application, implementation effect and other standards of the project. These 17 excellent teams presented a variety of industrial engineering case projects. Each team member analyzed the feasibility and organizational structure of their own projects based on the actual production of enterprises. The competition enjoyed a warm atmosphere.
The final contest of 2019 Industrial Engineering Application and Innovation Competition for College Students in Shanghai had ended in applause. However, we would not stop our efforts to develop China’s industrial engineering. We hoped that more students would participate in the Industrial Engineering Application and Innovation Competition for College Students in Shanghai next year!
