International Economy and Trade Department holds “International Economy and Trade Academic Planning Online Exchange Meeting”

On November 18, the academic planning exchange meeting on international economy and trade held by the Department of international economy and trade of the school of business was held online through Tencent Meeting. Four outstanding graduates who majored in international trade were invited to share their experiences at each of their aspects: postgraduate recommendation, postgraduate entrance examination, job hurting, military examination, and going abroad for study. The exchange meeting is open to all students who major in international economy and trade. It aims to help students to formulate their future academic and career directions with the experience of their predecessors to make their own life plans more reasonably. The meeting was presided over by Mr. He Wen, Professor Luo Fang, who is director of the department of international economy and trade, attended the meeting and made a speech. Teachers of the international economy and trade and more than 100 students have attended the meeting.

 First of all, Professor Luo Fang, director of the Department of international trade, put forward hopes and requirements for all students majoring in international economy and trade, She has pointed out that opportunities are only for those who have already prepared, and academic planning should be well prepared in advance. Under the COVID-19, the situation might be more severe, so it is necessary to set our own goals and directions in advance.

Li Yushi, who graduated in 2020 and successfully get the offer from Shanghai Jiao Tong University through postgraduate recommendation, shared her experience in both internal and external recommendation. In the field of on-campus recommendation, she believes that students should pay attention to the composition of the assessment criteria and the importance of the issued essays, while in the field of off-campus recommendation, she mainly introduces the feasibility of applying to different schools and how to prepare relevant information. Li Yushi particularly emphasized the advantages of majoring in the international economy and trade department and the importance of professional courses, and patiently answer the students about the difference between professional and academic degree issues; Second, Gu Wenrui who successfully passed the entrance examination of Fudan University and got the job offer from KPMG in his senior year has shared his experiences.
