On the afternoon of November 15, the 2020 Academic Annual Meeting of Shanghai Engineering Management Society and the 4th Shanghai Engineering Management Innovation Competition was held in the second conference room of Business School of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. About 100 guests attended the conference, including special lecture guests, leaders of Business School of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and relevant leaders, directors and members of the Shanghai Engineering Management Society. The guidance and funding unit of this conference is the Office of the Shanghai Academic Degrees Committee, sponsored by the Shanghai Engineering Management Society and undertaken by the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
Professor Shao Jungang, vice chairman of the Shanghai Engineering Management Society and executive deputy director of the Institute of Water Transport Economics of Shanghai Maritime University, presided over the meeting. Professor Zhao Laijun, Dean of Business School of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and Deputy Dean of the Shanghai Institute of Public Diplomacy, delivered a welcome speech. Dean Zhao briefly introduced the long history of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and the development of Business School in recent years. He said that the holding of this conference will promote the engineering management education of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and strengthen exchanges with sister universities and related companies. And cooperation is of great significance.
Professor Sun Shaorong, chairman and party secretary of the Shanghai Engineering Management Society , and expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, reported on the work of the society since 2019 and the next work plan. Chairman Sun introduced the change of term of the society, the review of the Star Society, and the situation of hosting and co-organizing meetings this year. He pointed out that the main task of the society in the next step is to further expand the influence of the society, attract corporate directors, and prepare conditions for the establishment of the Shanghai Municipal Engineering Management Science and Technology Progress Award.
Chen Song, vice chairman of the society, and deputy general manager (Dahua Group) announced the results of the 4th Shanghai Engineering Management Innovation Competition, and the leaders presented award certificates to the winners. The competition attracted more than 80 students from various universities in Shanghai. In the end, a total of 18 teams entered the finals of the competition, and 3 groups for the first prize, 6 groups for the second prize, and 9 groups for the third prize were determined.
Professor Xu Xueguo, vice chairman of the Shanghai Engineering Management Society and vice dean of the School of Management of Shanghai University, presided over the academic report of the conference. Shi Huangjun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), introduced the third CIIE. Professor Luo Xiangfeng, deputy dean of the School of Computer Science of Shanghai University and Shanghai Outstanding Subject Leader, gave a report on Supply Chain Risk Analysis Based on Knowledge Graph. These two reports are closely related to the hot issues of engineering management, and the participants have responded enthusiastically. Participants expressed that the conference was a success and that the Shanghai Engineering Management Society was an effective platform for relevant universities and enterprises in Shanghai to exchange research results.
