Recommended by Professor Zhang Yongqing, Vice Chairman of the Committee of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology of the Jiu San Society, and invited by the Social Service Department of the Shanghai Committee of the Jiu San Society and Shanghai Guangming Middle School, on the afternoon of November 6, Associate Professor Zhu Xiaodong of our school was in the Guangming Forum Lecture Hall, the old building of Shanghai Guangming Middle School, A science lecture report on “A New Generation of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Era” was made for the freshman students of the school, and more than 100 high school students participated in the study.
The lecture was hosted by Teacher Zhao Chengbin from the Teacher Development Center of the school. Mr. Zhao first gave a simple speech, welcoming Professor Zhu to Shanghai Guangming Middle School and introducing that the school attaches great importance to inviting experts from scientific research institutes to give lectures to students in their spare time. To provide students with the opportunity to get in touch with the latest scientific and technological knowledge, the Guangming Forum has become a popular science feature of the school. Later, Associate Professor Zhu Xiaodong gave a lecture on “The New Generation of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Era”. Professor Zhu used a wealth of cases to explain the concepts, development status, related technologies, and application scenarios of two emerging technologies in the era of new-generation artificial intelligence and big data.
After the end, Teacher Zhao Chengbin also invited Associate Professor Zhu Xiaodong to communicate with the school's debate team. This debate team will represent the school to participate in the Huangpu District High School Debate Competition. The theme of this debate is “In the era of big data, user privacy is more secure”, and the theme of the opponent's debate is “In the era of big data, user privacy is even more insecure.” Associate Professor Zhu Xiaodong was invited to combine his professional expertise in big data and information security to give team competition guidance.
Shanghai Guangming Middle School is an experimental and demonstrative high school in Shanghai. It is a century-old school with a long history. It is located in the downtown area of the prosperous Huangpu District. The old school building was built in 1923 and is an excellent historical building in Shanghai.
This event promoted the exchange and cooperation between Shanghai University of Science and Technology and Shanghai experimental demonstration middle school.
