Recently, the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology's(USST) Financial Support for Real Economy Case Study Competition has been successfully held. Organized by the Department of Finance, Business School of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology(USSTBS), the competition was prepared in September 2020. Teachers from the Department of Finance took part in the planning, organization, guidance, competition and evaluation of the competition, which lasted for three months.
The participating students selected financial cases from multiple perspectives and made an in-depth analysis of their role in the development of the real economy, covering the role of monetary policy, Credit policy and capital market in promoting economic development, industrial transformation and technological innovation, as well as commercial banks’, insurance companies’ and other financial institutions’ reform measures and effectiveness introduced to serve the real economy.
After the evaluation of the panels, the following winners were selected:
First Prize: Yu Jiajie, Duan Yu, Li Ming, Feng Shitao, Yu Shuqi
Second Prize: Huang Liyuan, Chen Yanling
Third Prize: Zheng Chenyue, Xia Zufei, Zhang Haifan
The competition strengthened the students’ understanding of the achievements of the reform and development of China’s financial system, and enhanced the richness and three-dimensional character of the ideological and political education in the financial courses, it is helpful to set up college students’ correct financial view and stimulate innovative thinking and research interest. The competition had achieved the expected results and was successfully held.
