On the afternoon of July 9, the wrap-up meeting for the first half-year works on undergraduate teaching of Business School was held in Conference Room 506. Deputy Dean Zhang Zheng, department heads, faculty representatives, and members of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office attended the meeting. The meeting was presided by Zhang Zheng.
At the meeting, Shu Yiming, the Director of Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office, introduced the works, problems and measures for the second semester of academic year 2020 to 2021 on the academic performance, curriculum ideology and politics, Industry-University Cooperation, theses (designs), and daily teachings of the undergraduate students.
Around the Double Ten Thousand Plan, Qi Xiang, Tai Yuhong and Liu Yong exchanged the preparatory works for the application of first-class professional construction points of Public Administration, Industrial Engineering, and Information Management and Information Systems, respectively. Xi Ning and Zhou Yang made detailed reports on the mid-term inspection and post construction of Management Science, a national first-class professional construction point, and Business Administration, a Shanghai first-class professional construction point, respectively.
The heads of each department made speeches in terms of the key tasks in the second half of the year, such as the implementation of the performance indicators, the applications of the collaborative education projects of Industry-University Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, and the quality inspection of graduation theses (designs).
Zhang Zheng pointed out in his concluding speech that the Double Ten Thousand Plan is a major initiative of our country to build high-level undergraduate education, and we must pay great attention to it and adopt effective measures to promote the leapfrog development of undergraduate teaching with the effort on construction of the first-class majors. He also urged that we should strengthen the construction of industrial colleges and promote the innovation of talent cultivation mode through extensive industry-university cooperation, and all departments should continue to improve the academic performance by further refining the performance indicators and implementing them. In added, he emphasized that thesis (design) is a comprehensive test ofstudents' comprehensive quality and practical ability, and all departments should seriously summarize the experience of graduation theses (designs) works and ensure the quality of each thesis (design).
Through this meeting, the progress and shortcomings of undergraduate teaching works in the first half-year were further sorted out, and the key directions, roadmap and timetable for undergraduate teachings in the second half of the year were clarified, which is conducive to the school's continuous enhancement of the quality of undergraduate talent cultivation.
