Young faculty of Business School published a paper in “Energy Policy”

Recently, Hu Haisheng, a young faculty has published a paper entitled “A comparative study on the environmental and economic effects of a resourcetax and carbon tax in China: Analysis based on the computable general equilibrium model” in “Energy Policy”, which is an important international journal in the field of energy.

In this paper, Business School, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, is the first affiliation, Hu haisheng is the first author, Dong Wanhao, who works at Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, is the second author as well as the corresponding author, and Zhou Qian, who works at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, is the third author. This study uses a computable general equilibrium (CGE) approach to simulate and analyze the effects of China's increasing resource tax rate policy and carbon tax policy. The strengths and weakness of the two policies are compared from the four perspectives of energy utilization, pollutant emissions, macro economy, government revenue. This study fills the gap in this niche research area and provides policy recommendations for China to successfully achieve the double carbon goal from the perspective of comprehensive environmental tax reform.

 “Energy Policy” is published by Elsevier, JCR - Q1 in Economics indexed with SSCI, and CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) - Q1 in Management Science in the TOP category. The impact factor of this journal is 6.142. According to Elsevier's 2020 CiteScore, this journal is in the top 5% of international journals in Environmental Science.
