One-to-One coaching for application for Shanghai Philosophy & Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award and Shanghai Municipal Research Achievements Award of Decision-Making Consultancy – an event of Academic Series of “Hujiang Economy & Management Symposium”, was conducted successfully on Nov. 1.
This coaching activity aims to help faculties of USST-BS to plan application for Shanghai Philosophy & Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award and Shanghai Municipal Research Achievements Award for Decision-Making Consultancy. This would increase the number of approved proposals for high-quality awards from our school.
Three experts, Prof. CHEN Qiang (Former Director of Liberal Arts and Social Science Office, Dean of International School of Tongji University, Executive Director of the Shanghai Industrial Innovation Ecosystem Research Center), Dr. HU Xiaopeng (Deputy director of the Institute for World Economy, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences), and Dr. GAO Hongmin (Director of the International Finance Research Office, Director of the International Financial and Monetary Research Center, Institute for World Economy, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences) were invited to provide the consultation. More than 10 faculties of the School received one-on-one guidance from experts. This event was host by Dr. HE Jianjia, vice dean of USST-BS.
Before the consultation, Prof. ZHAO Laijun, dean of USST-BS, presented his welcome and appreciation to the three experts. He hoped that the consultations from the experts will improve the quality of the application of our faculties by giving pertinent suggestions to application materials
Then the experts working in 3 groups to conduct one-to-one coaching for the faculties. The face-to-face communications were arranged between one researcher and two or three experts to solicit multiple opinions. The experts provided guidance targeting at creativity, significance in practice, and written expression of the study proposals. According to the faculties, they have gained a lot, their ideas have become clearer, and they have a better understanding of the preparation of award materials and evaluation rules.
Such tutoring activites play an important role in inspiring the teachers' enthusiasm for application, enhancing teachers' confidence in application, and improving the quality of application of our college's high-quality awards. The school will continue to promote the award-reporting and guidance work, and strive to obtain more high-quality awards.
