University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), the university to which the Industry-Education Integration Special Committee of Shanghai MBA Education Guidance Committee is attached, successfully held an event “Walking Pioneer”– one of the events of Shanghai MBA Industry-Education Integration Activity Series, on the afternoon of Nov 4. Led by Prof. ZHANG Zheng, vice dean of the Business School USST, the director of MBA program of USST and one of conveners of Industry-education Integration Special Committee of Shanghai MBA Teaching Guidance Committee, Mr. WANG Jia, deputy director of Yangpu Employment Promotion (Talent) Center, Dr. WANG Yonglian, director of Professional Degree Education Center Office of Business School and Mr. XU Yanjun, examination department of Yangpu Employment Promotion (Talent) Center, students from USST and Tongji University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics and other universities gathered at Yangpu Riverside. The theme of the event was Talents-gathering in Yangpu, Friends-making in walking – activity series of Shanghai MBA industry-education integration. Ms. ZHOU Na, deputy director of office for professional degree education center of USST, Ms. LI Ling, education supervisor, Ms. YU Xiaoqing, class advisor of MBA postgraduates 2021, and MBA alumni Mr. ZONG Jiawu and Mr. ZHU Shourui attended the event on the day.
On Nov 2, 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the important concept of The cities are built by the people and are for the people in his investigation on the changes over the century and the current view of the Yangpu riverside. The students followed the footsteps of the General Secretary, led by the commentator, starting from the cultural wall of the historical site of Huangpu Pier, where the original aspiration set sail, along the Yangpu Riverside, visited the route where the red story is integrated into the architecture.
From the light industry (historical sites of Tianzhang paper mill, Yihe cotton mill, etc.) to shipping, from public municipalities (Yang Shupu water plant) to Fisherman's Wharf, students enjoyed the unique architectural style of Yangpu Riverside, both the witness of China's historical industry since the opening of the port and the display of modern technology, a landscape full of history and modernity.
As the commentator explained, students learned that Hudong is one of the birth places of modern industry and workers' movement. The workers in Shanghai have a glorious history that helped spur the May 30th Movement. Shanghai workers have a brave and indomitable fighting spirit and dare to stand in the forefront. The transformation of Yangpu riverside from “industry rust belt” to “life show belt” depends on the pioneering spirit of innovation, fighting spirit and craftsman spirit, which is the mission of the new era.
After the walk, Dr. ZHANG Zheng, Deputy Director Mr. WANG Jia, Dr. WANG Yonglian and Ms. XU Yanjun led the students to visit a company vat Shanghai Jingzhi Industrial Co., Ltd, a private company headquartered at Yangpu riverside.
Founded in 2006 by alumni of USST, Shanghai Jingzhi Industrial Co., Ltd. was the first batch of enterprises in Shanghai sponsored by university students' entrepreneurship fund. The company has been committed to become “the world’s advanced manufacturing high-end service providers” for 15 years. The company focuses on providing complete set of intelligent manufacturing engineering system solutions for advanced manufacturing industries such as automobile, telecommunication, medical, heavy industry, new energy, etc., customizing high-end manufacturing process equipment and high-end intelligent information equipment for customers, forming a unique housekeeping factory service concept, becoming a strategic partner and supplier of many famous brands domestically and abroad, such as Huawei, SAIC Group, Jiangling Automobile, Nateford Transmission System, Pilberg, SAIC Transmission, AeroMechanics, etc.
First, Mr. JIANG Qiliang, director of Shanghai Jingzhi Industrial Co., Ltd. gave a warm welcome to the students and teachers who came to visit. Led by Mr. JIANG Qiliang, participants learned about Jingzhi company’s profile, development history, culture and the rewards and honors the company has received.
Then, Mr. JIANG Qiliang led the guests to see the company's products, R&D center, activity center, etc. He also showed the corporate propaganda video in order to illustrate the red culture and red spirit of Jingzhi company.
After the visit, Mr. JIANG Qiliang led the guests to the meeting room to have an in-depth interaction and exchange of ideas with the students. Mr. JIANG first shared his experience in business management based on his rich career experience, followed by a question-and-answer session. He gave answers to the students’ questions carefully.The atmosphere was enthusiastic and the students benefited a lot.
In this visit, the teachers and students walked, watched and heard the 100-years memory of urban industry and red revolutionary happened on this land, visited of the headquarters of private enterprise Shanghai Jingzhi Industrial Co., Ltd. and appreciated the century-old red gene of Yangpu. Everyone felt that they have learned a lot.
By organizing such activities, Shanghai MBA Education Committee gathered MBA students from different universities to visit and exchange ideas, breaking the walls of universities, allowing resources to cross the border and strengthening the mutual communication and learning of MBA students from different universities. The committee will continue to organize such kind of activities in the future to further promote the in-depth development of the integration of industry and education in Shanghai MBA.
