Warm-up Training for the 2nd Open Big Data Analysis Challenge among Universities in Shanghai was held successfully

The Department of Information Management & Information Systems conducted an online training course on Nov 6 targeting the 2nd Open Big Data Analysis Challenge among Universities in Shanghai. Some 400 teachers and students attended the course. The theme of the event is “Open Big Data Analysis Practice about Carbon Neutrality among Universities” A total of 132 teams will compete in the event.

The event endeavors to improve the skills of data analysis and application of algorithm for students, at the same time assist in policy-making of enterprises to reduce carbon emission.

The meeting was presided by Dr. Zhu Xiaodong and Dr. Liu Yong made a brief speech to start the meeting. The meeting consisted of three parts: training to operate the data analysis platform of the Blue Eagle Bid Data Lab of New Business; brief analysis of block chain technology and its application; training of type C and type D questions; “introduction of regulation training about match.

First, Pei Haiqin, the manager of Beijing Zhong Yun Guo Chuang Data Science and Technology Co, Ltd introduced the creation, organization, operation procedure and visualization techniques for table and figure of Blue Eagle New Business Lab Platform.  After the introduction, students raised various questions regarding invitation of project member, embedding of other languages, and whether data is extractable. Guest speaker and Dr Zhu Xiaodong gave the detailed answers to these questions.

Second, Wang Yifan, the manager of Moheng Technology Incorporated briefly analyzed block chain technology and its application, including the origin of block chain, the novelty of bitcoin (decentralization and open source) and Ethereum.

Then, Manager Wang introduced the training contents about type C and type D questions used in the Challenge. A discussion followed between Mr. Wang and teachers from Shanghai University of Engineering Science.

In the end, Dr. Zhu Xiaodong of USST gave a detailed introduction about the requirements and regulations of the Challenge. He also answered questions from participating students. The meeting concluded successfully.
