The Department of System Science of the Business School Assisted in the 2021 Shanghai Metro 119 Firefighting Awareness Month

On the morning of November 12, the launching ceremony of the 2021 Shanghai Metro 119 Firefighting Awareness Month, namely the “Three Link Mechanism” for Fire Safety between Rail Transit Stations and Adjacent Buildings, was held at the Metro Music Corner of the People Square station. At the site, Shentong Metro Co., Ltd, Shanghai Fire and Rescue Corps, Shanghai Public Security Bureau Rail Transit Corps and other units jointly launched “The Theme Activity of The 2021 Shanghai Metro 119 Firefighting Awareness Month”, promoting the development of the “Trigeminy Mechanism” of fire safety between rail transit stations and adjacent buildings.

Prof. FANG Zhiming and his team from the Department of System Science and Shanghai Weimeng Internet of Things Technology Co., LTD introduced the “Trigeminy Mechanism” of “Information Connectivity, Coordinated Fire Protection and Prevention, Coordinated Emergency Responses” for the fire safety of rail transit station and adjacent buildings, and reported the pilot study of about information system construction to exemplify “Smart Firefighting”. Taking the metal station named Shanxi South Road as the experimental site and carrying out the standardized construction of the “Three Link Mechanism” of fire safety with neighboring buildings in the ring Trade mall have achieved preliminary achievements.

Relying on the Public Safety System Laboratory of the Department of System Science, Prof. FANG Zhiming's team is responsible for the research and development of Intelligent Fire Fighting and Trigeminy Mechanism application services. It includes the VR-based Shanxi South Road metro station evacuation platform, which flexibly builds emergency evacuation scenarios by controlling the form of inflowing information and features of different types of emergencies, and is an efficient fire safety publicity and training tool. The intelligent evacuation strategy generation system has been developed to form real-time and dynamic evacuation strategies according to real-time passenger flow data of metro stations and on-site emergencies. Intelligent evacuation indicator lamps have been developed, including portable emergency evacuation indicator card and intelligent evacuation indicator terminal. The dynamic evacuation strategy is transformed into the control signal of the evacuation indicator lamps to realize the dynamic guidance of passengers. That day, the team, invited by Shentong Metro Co., LTD, took VR evacuation platform, evacuation strategy generation system, intelligent evacuation indicator lamps and so on to participate in the activity and made a live demonstration.

Fire safety is not only a social engineering project highly related to people’s livelihood. Rail transit station and adjacent building fire safety “Trigeminy Mechanism” is a starting point and breakthrough of rail transit and public building fire safety work. To meet the needs of the society, the Department of System Science and the Public Safety System Laboratory of the Business School will continue to strengthen the research and application of intelligent fire protection and intelligent evacuation system and will enhance the influence of the school in the field of fire safety in Shanghai.
