In Honor of 2021 and Set Sail for 2022 | Business School New Year Commendation Meeting is Grandly Held

On the afternoon of January 19, the business school new year commendation meeting was grandly held in conference room 1, Building A of Economy & Management Building. SHENG Chun, deputy secretary of the Party committee and vice president of USST, YE Lei, head of the publicity department of USST, DU Hanrong, general manager of Qimen black tea company, and all members of the leadership lineup and faculty representatives of the school attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by FEI Chen, a young faculty from the department of system science.

At the beginning of the meeting, all departments of the school expressed their spring festival wishes to all faculties and students in the form of video greetings. Subsequently, FEI Chen solemnly introduced the guests and expressed a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all guests, leaders and faculties.

Talents are the top priority in the development of the school. In the past year, the school has made great efforts to bring in talents. In order to help new and old faculties know each other and strengthen their exchanges, the new faculties first introduced themselves in the meeting.

2021 is an extraordinary year, it is the 115th anniversary of the founding of USST and the 15th anniversary of the new business school. Summing up the past and looking forward to the future, all members from business school have not forgotten their original heart, kept their mission in mind, overcome difficulties, climbed to new heights and achieved fruitful results. In order to commend the advanced collectives and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the school in the past year, call on all faculties and students of the school to learn from the advanced collectives and individuals, faithfully fulfill the original mission of educators to educate students for the Party and the country, and help the development of the school to a new level, the school awarded outstanding contribution award to 50 faculties including CHEN Li, etc. The collective contribution award was awarded to 10 departments including the general office of the Party and government, the excellent contribution award was awarded to 35 faculties including CHE Liping, and the major contribution award was awarded to 6 faculties including ZHAO Laijun, ZHAO Jing, YANG Weixin, HE Shengxue, TAO Jie and BIAN Zeyang.

The development of the school is inseparable from the strong support of alumni enterprises. After the commendation, DU Hanrong, general manager of Qimen black tea company, the sponsor of the meeting, shared his experience as a visiting professor of the business school and the historical origin of Qimen black tea and Hujiang business school. At the same time, he hoped to promote the common growth of the school and enterprises through university enterprise cooperation.

Professor ZHAO Jing, the recipient of the excellent youth science fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the head of the department of transportation system engineering, as the representative of the award-winning faculty, delivered the award-winning speech with the three keywords of thanks, feelings and perception. He expects that in 2022, all faculties of the school will uphold the fine tradition of cohesion and forging ahead of the business school and the development idea of walking with the times and running fast in small steps, strive to build a first-class university of science and engineering with remarkable characteristics.

SHENG Chun, deputy secretary of the Party committee and vice president of USST, congratulated the winners on behalf of the Party committee of the University and thanked the faculties who have made contributions to the business school. He pointed out that in 2021, the school performance appraisal of the business school ranked third in the university, and the 14th five-year plan achieved a good start! Today's meeting is not only the affirmation and encouragement of the teaching staff who have achieved fruitful results, but also the summary of 2021 and the ardent expectation of 2022 as well. In the new year, he hoped that all faculties of the business school will not forget their original heart, bear in mind their mission, work hard, work tirelessly, and devote themselves to work in the spirit of not waiting for time and seizing the day, so as to contribute to the construction of the school and make contributions to the take-off of the university.
