The 2024 Systems Science Discipline Construction & Development Forum was Held Successfully in Wuhu

On May 18, the 2024 Systems Science Discipline Construction & Development Forum was held in Wuhu, Anhui province. Nearly 100 experts and scholars, including Guo Lei, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, members of the Disciplinary Review Panel on Systems Science under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council (ADCSC), members of the Steering Committee of the Conference on Systems Science of China (CSSC), and heads of Systems Science degree authorization points of universities and institutes in China, gathered to share and discuss the experience of the Systems Science Discipline construction as well as the progress of the research frontiers. The forum was presided over by Jia Bin, convenor of the Disciplinary Review Panel on System Sciences under the ADCSC.

Ding Xiaodong, convenor of the Disciplinary Review Panel on Systems Science under the ADCSC and president of USST, expressed in his speech that he hoped the forum would serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing experiences, and fostering the growth of wisdom for the construction of the Systems Science Discipline. The goal is to discuss the challenges and advanced experiences, and ultimately promote the development of the Systems Science Discipline.

Experts and scholars from various organizations shared their experiences and presented several reports. For instance, Ding Xiaodong from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology reported on Industry-Education Integration to Promote Discipline Construction, Jia Bin from Beijing Jiaotong University reported on Simple Rules in a Complex World - Taking the Complexity Analysis and Prediction of Travel Behavior as an Example, Han Zhangang from Beijing Normal University reported on The core of Systems Science research: the relationship between structural environment and function, Hong Yiguang from Tongji University reported on The game under misinformation, Duan Xiaojun from National University of Defense Technology reported on Complexity of System Conflict, Liu Zhixin from Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences reported on Application of Nonlinear System Identification Theory in the Study of Penalty Problems, Chen Duxin (on behalf of Yu Wenwu) from Southeast University reported on Systems Science in the New Era: Intelligent Systems and Big Data, Liu Wenqi from Kunming University of Science and Technology reported on Analyzing the Metasynthetic Engineering and Brain-Machine Interface Technology from the Perspective of Systems Science, Ding Yiming from Wuhan University of Science and Technology reported on The Classification of Complex Systems, Dong Huanhe from Shandong University of Science and Technology reported on Mine Information SystemsAnalysis and Integration, Yu Chongchong from Beijing Technology and Business University reported on Complex Fault Diagnosis and Prediction from System Perspective, Zhu Zhiyu from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology reported on Marine and Battlefield Information Sensing and Collaboration System for Unmanned Clusters. These reports showcased the research frontiers and development of the Systems Science Discipline in institutions/universities.
