2024 Capacity Enhancement Training Course for Core Staff of Shanghai Emergency Law Enforcement System, also the Symposium for Law Enforcement Team Leaders was held at USST on Dec 27, 2024. Cao Jun, Deputy Director of Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau, attended this training course and led a delegation to visit the School of Intelligent Emergency Management (SIEM).

The delegation visited the laboratory of SIEM, experienced the VR science system, emergency rehearsal system, smart evacuation instruction system, and multiplayer on-line evacuation experimental platform, etc., and gave some suggestions on the development of SIEM, as well as the laboratory construction.

Afterwards, Liu Deqiang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of USST, Zhao Laijun, dean of the Business School and executive dean of SIEM, Fang Zhiming, deputy dean and secretary general of SIEM, and other faculty had a discussion with Cao Jun. The two sides discussed how to fully implement the Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation in Emergency Management between Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau and Shanghai University for Science and Technology, to further cooperate in scientific research, talent training, cooperation and exchange, and so as to jointly promote the modernization of Shanghai's emergency management system and emergency management capabilities.
